ADMISSIONS POLICY REQUIREMENT Students are admitted as regular students under one of the following criteria: A) Applicant must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent, (GED, California State Proficiency Test, etc.) and pass an admissions test (Milady) with a minimum score of 60% as stated in the test publisher’s guidelines. All students must have completed the 10th grade, must be at least 17 years of age or its equivalent as required by the California State Board of Cosmetology. B) Students who are Non High School graduates (or its equivalent) will be required to pass the TABE. Ability to Benefit tests approved by the US Department of Education and also the Milady Cosmetology Student Aptitude Test. The test is to be administered by an independent party and not by any school representative. Students subjected to these criteria are referred to as students admitted under the Ability To Benefit guidelines. This requirement applies to this school as well as to any other postsecondary school. The school’s admissions personnel will provide applicants with additional information as to how to arrange for the required Ability to Benefit test. The test is the TABE level D. The cut score is 697 points. C) Cosmetology Instructor applicants must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent in addition to a cosmetology licensed. D) For students enrolling under that are currently attending high school, must have completed the 10th grade and be at least 16 years of age. The High School they are attending must give them a written form stating they may attend our school. However, in order to apply for the state licensing exam you must be 17 years of age at the time of application and have completed the 10th grade or its equivalent. CALENDAR / HOLIDAYS July 4th., Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. A special holiday may be declared for emergencies or special reasons. Holy Day of all religious beliefs are respected and allowed. ABILITY TO BENEFIT STUDENT An ability to benefit student is one who is beyond the age of compulsory education. Who lack a high school diploma or equivalent, but who has the ability to benefit from the training offered at the institution. CLASS SCHEDULES Class start first (1) Monday of the month Full time Tuesday - Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Part time Tuesday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
